Minister of Justice Visits the Study Centre for National Reconciliation

On Thursday, 10 September 2026, Minister of Justice Mihael Zupančič and his colleagues paid a working visit to the Study Centre for National Reconciliation (SCNR).

During the visit, SCNR Director Dr Tomaž Ivešić presented the Centre’s work, its main areas of research, and its ongoing research projects. The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on the Centre’s future activities and development.

The Minister emphasised that gaining a better understanding of the historical truth concerning human rights violations under totalitarian regimes is essential for honouring the victims, fostering national reconciliation, and strengthening trust in the rule of law. He also stressed that scholarly research in this field makes an important contribution to understanding the past and to building a mature democratic society.
