Mission and goals
The Study Centre for National Reconciliation began operating in May 2008. Our task is to research recent Slovenian history with an emphasis on all three totalitarianisms that were present in the Slovenian territory: fascism, Nazism and communism.
We collect and study documents, stories, and memories of the witnesses from that time; we publish research and the collected testimonies; we prepare conferences and discussions on the topic of 20th-century Slovenian history; we participate in the educational process and connect with Slovenians in neighbouring countries and around the world as well as with similar institutions in Europe or abroad. Through our research and operation, we attempt to complement the understanding of the events of recent history that marked Slovenians and give insight into the topics that have not yet been researched or have often been withheld.
