Platform of European Memory and Conscience

The Platform of European Memory and Conscience (PEMC) is a non-profit international non-governmental organisation. The PEMC was founded on 14 October 2011 in Prague on the basis of the European Parliament resolution on European conscience and totalitarianism (2009). It connects 57 institutions and organisations from 20 countries – 14 EU member states (Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria, France, Germany and Poland), Ukraine, Moldova, Iceland, Albania, Canada and the United States of America. The members of the PEMC are active in the research, documentation, remembrance, raising awareness and education about the totalitarian regimes of the 20th century.

The president of the Platform of European Memory and Conscience is dr. Łukasz Kamiński. The executive committee of the Platform is comprised of dr. Andreja Valič Zver (member of the EC PEMC 2011–2014, from 2017 onward), dr. Wolfgang-Christian Fuchs, Toomas Hiio and Zsolt Szilágyi.
